What to Expect
Think of Chiropractic care as Your "Rehab"! for your body & specifically, Your Nervous System! Yes, sometimes when a joint or bone is in the wrong place, adjusting it & returning it to its rightful home, can take minimal visits! But this "rehab" that your chiropractor does most, is restoring your body's nervous system back to full function. And that takes a level of commitment on Your part. Dr Dieter describes the picture of a pot hole in the road.
1. We are happy to patch you up each time that you have pain return (like a pot hole in the road opening back up). Chiropractors call this "Crisis Management." OR!
2. We can address the underlying cause of your condition/pain, which takes longer & requires that level of commitment on your part. Either way, its your choice & we are here for you!
Phase 1: Relief Care
If you are in pain when you come into our office, the first objective is Relief, to help you feel better. Depending on the severity of your problem, it is typical to need care two to three times for the first week, reassessing your progress at each visit. Then as you progress, decreasing your care ultimately to a once a month tune up (just as Dr. Dieter does) to avoid painful discouraging relapses.
Phase 2: Corrective/Restorative Care
During the corrective care phase, muscles & other tissues are allowed to heal more completely, thereby helping prevent injury. It is typical to need care four to eight times per month, depending on your overall health & the severity of your problem.
Phase 3: Wellness Care
Once your body has fully healed, whether from a car accident of sports injury, sciatica, head aches, it is important to come in for periodic adjustments to avoid problems in the future. Usually, this only requires a quick visit to the chiropractor once a month, based on Your lifestyle & goals.
